A few useful answers

How do I start my own wedding?

The first screen shows a fictional sample wedding. Choose Start your wedding, add your details and select whether to include suggested celebrations. You can rename, remove or add traditions later. Starting a new wedding replaces the plan on that device; export a backup first if you need to keep it.

Where are my plans saved?

Standard planning is saved on your device and does not require sign-in. Open Settings & backups → Export a wedding backup to keep a JSON copy. Use Restore from backup to import it on another device. Restoring replaces the current plan after confirmation; it does not merge two weddings.

Exports contain personal details and are not encrypted. Keep them private. Utsav support cannot recover an on-device plan if it has been deleted and no backup remains.

How should I record a household RSVP?

Add a household, set the number of invited people, and record its response. For a confirmed household, enter how many people will attend; this may be smaller than the invitation count. The overview counts people, not just households.

The household's response applies to its listed celebrations. For mixed meal preferences or different attendance by event, use separate guest entries or keep clear notes with the host.

Does Utsav book vendors or send payments?

Utsav records your quotes, arrangements and paid amounts. Contact caterers, photographers and other vendors directly to confirm availability, bookings and payments. The budget separates all quotes from booked commitments; paid amounts are already part of those costs.

How do family sharing and RSVP links work?

Open Settings & backups → Family sharing to connect to Utsav sharing. The default service is operated by Rajesh Ray and hosted with Fly.io in Singapore. You can change the address to use another server you trust. Accept the sharing rules before creating, joining or uploading a shared wedding. Creating or uploading sends the plan to that server. Every family editor can see the whole wedding, including guest contacts, notes and budgets.

Uploads and refreshes are explicit actions. A refresh replaces local plans after confirmation. Keep a backup before resolving changes made by another helper. Utsav supplies a public RSVP page and the default family service. If you change these addresses, both must be reachable by your guests; a localhost or private preview address will not work for other guests.

Guest links reveal only the relevant household invitation, but anyone receiving a forwarded link can use it. Ask the host for a replacement if a link has expired or been shared incorrectly. For an independently operated family server, contact that server's operator about availability, backups and access.

How do I report harmful content or a person?

Open Family sharing → Report content or a person, or use the reporting button on a guest RSVP invitation. Choose the concern, describe the relevant content or person, then send the report. Wait for the receipt; a failed request is not submitted. No full wedding or guest list is automatically attached.

Reports go to the family server operator. For Utsav sharing, the operator reviews reports and may remove content or revoke access. Email support with the report reference for follow-up. A receipt does not mean content was removed. Owners can remove editors in Review family access; editors can revoke their own connection when disconnecting. See our sharing terms and reporting policy.

How do I recover or remove family access?

On a connected device, choose Save a connection recovery file → Export private connection. This file contains a secret key and is separate from your wedding-data backup. Keep it protected; anyone with it can access the shared wedding. Use Restore a saved connection on a disconnected device to restore it.

Owners can use Review family access to remove editors and cancel unused invitations. Editors can revoke their own connection when disconnecting. Owner disconnection only removes the key from that device, so save a recovery file first or delete the server wedding if it is no longer needed. There is no email-based owner-key recovery.

Replace this device’s access key invalidates old copies of that key, including old recovery files. Other editors keep their own access. Save a new recovery file afterward.

How do I share an invitation?

Use the share button beside a guest or the celebration itinerary. On a phone, this opens the system share sheet; a browser may copy the invitation text. You choose the recipient and finish sending in your messaging app. Utsav does not automatically send WhatsApp messages, SMS or emails.

Why did a reminder not arrive?

Task reminders are available in the native iPhone and Android apps. In Settings, choose Set task reminders and allow notifications. Reminders are scheduled for 9 am on future due dates. Your phone's notification, battery, Focus or Do Not Disturb settings can affect delivery. Utsav does not guarantee exact alarm delivery.

Use Turn off reminders to cancel them. Task titles may appear on your lock screen.

How can I remove my data?

Use the app's local deletion control and, if connected, the separate server deletion controls. Deleting a local plan does not erase shared server records or exported copies. Follow the Utsav data deletion instructions for the correct order and a request route if you cannot access the app.

Support information updated 10 October 2026. These instructions describe Utsav's planning and optional family-sharing features; they do not confirm availability in an app store.
