CELEBRATE WITH CARE

Sharing terms & community rules

Utsav helps people they know plan a wedding or event together. These rules apply to shared plans, family invitations, guest RSVP responses and reports. Version 2026-10-10.

Before you share

Accept these rules before creating or joining a shared wedding, uploading plans or sending a guest RSVP. On-device planning does not require acceptance. You can read existing invitations or report a concern without accepting. The service operator is Rajesh Ray, reachable at iamrajesh350@gmail.com. The default Utsav service is hosted with Fly.io in Singapore. If you choose another server, check its operator’s policies too.

Share only information you have authority to use and share. Tell your guests and helpers how their information is used. Every family editor can see the full shared wedding, including guest contacts, notes and budgets. Keep access keys and guest links private.

Content and behaviour that are not allowed

Use the service for genuine event planning. Do not create, upload or send objectionable content, even in a private wedding.

Report a concern

In a connected app, open Settings & backups → Family sharing → Report content or a person. Guests can use the same reporting button on their RSVP invitation. Select what the report concerns, choose a reason and describe the relevant content or person. Select Send report and wait for the receipt. A failed request is not a submitted report.

The report goes to the chosen family server. It contains the text you enter, a wedding reference, your access role and connection reference, and timestamps. The app does not attach your full wedding or guest list. Do not include passwords, access keys, private links or unnecessary personal information. For the default Utsav service, email support with the report reference if you need follow-up.

A report receipt confirms delivery, not removal. This service is not an emergency channel. Contact local emergency services when there is an immediate danger.

How we handle reports

A limited automated check can reject certain clearly abusive phrases in shared plan text before upload. It does not detect every harmful message or replace human judgment. The Utsav operator reviews reports and considers the content, context and applicable rules. Actions may include removing content, revoking access, suspending or deleting an abusive shared wedding, or taking no action when the report does not show a violation. Reports are available only to the operator, not other wedding editors. If you believe a moderation action was mistaken, email support with the report reference or a non-secret wedding reference.

Reports expire after 90 days and are removed at the next service cleanup or start. Hosting backups are configured to expire after five days. A report can remain until its retention period ends even when the related wedding is deleted, so that abuse can be reviewed. See the privacy notice and data deletion page for more details.

Control access to your plans

Wedding owners can open Review family access to remove editors and cancel unused invitations. An editor can use Disconnect device → Revoke access and disconnect to leave. Hosts can replace a household’s RSVP link to invalidate an earlier link. Guests can close an invitation without replying and ask their host to remove unwanted information.

Removing access does not erase copies already downloaded or exported. Owner disconnection only removes that device’s key; use the separate server deletion control to remove the shared wedding.

When these rules change

A material change uses a new version and asks you to accept it before further shared uploads or replies. You can continue local planning or use the reporting and deletion controls without accepting a new version.
