Break Cat

YOUR MAC. YOUR MOMENT.

Privacy policy

Effective September 17, 2026 · Break Cat for macOS · Developer: Rajesh Ray

Break Cat does not collect or transmit personal data. The app runs locally on your Mac, without an account, advertising, or analytics.

What the app uses

In Active computer use mode, Break Cat reads macOS's estimate of the time since the last input event to pause the timer during inactivity. It does not read or record the contents of keystrokes, screenshots, documents, websites, or other apps.

Break Cat uses elapsed system time and sleep or session events to manage reminders and breaks. It stores your selected work interval, break length, and timing mode in the app's local preferences. Work progress and pause state are kept only for the current app session. This information is not sent to the developer or any third party. It does not create an activity history.

Network access and tracking

The app contains no advertising, analytics, third-party tracking SDKs, or developer-operated server connection. It does not sell, share, or transmit personal data. You do not need to create an account.

The app does not request network access in its App Sandbox entitlements. Its features do not require screen recording, Accessibility, or input monitoring permission. If you open a support link in a browser or email app, that service's policies apply.

Support you choose to send

If you email support, your email address and the information you choose to include are used to respond to your request. This is separate from the app, which sends no diagnostic reports or support messages automatically. You can request deletion of your support correspondence by emailing the address below.

This website and Apple's services

This support website is hosted on GitHub Pages. It includes no analytics scripts, advertising, or tracking cookies added by the developer. GitHub may process technical information about website visits under the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Apple handles App Store downloads, purchases, and any diagnostics you choose to share with Apple under Apple's privacy policy. This policy describes Break Cat's own behavior.

Your choices

Change timing in settings, pause reminders, or quit using the paw icon in the menu bar. Quitting clears session timing; saved timing preferences remain on this Mac. There is no online account or cloud activity history.

Changes and contact

If the app's privacy practices change, this policy will be updated with a new effective date.
